Josef Fares, the head of Hazelight Studios, recently shared exciting details about their upcoming game, Split Fiction, in an interview with MinnMax. Fares reiterated Hazelight's commitment to steering clear of live-service models and microtransactions, emphasizing their focus on delivering exceptional gaming experiences.
"We're not going public. No microtransactions. We focus solely on delivering great gaming experiences."
Fares revealed that the core narrative of Split Fiction is designed to last around 12-14 hours, closely mirroring the runtime of their previous hit, It Takes Two. For players looking to delve deeper, the game includes optional missions and additional content, extending the total gameplay time to approximately 16-17 hours.
While Hazelight is renowned for its cooperative titles, Fares hinted at the potential for exploring single-player games in the future. He also disclosed that Split Fiction's budget is double that of It Takes Two. Despite the increased investment, Hazelight has chosen not to pursue post-launch DLC, ensuring that all features are available to players from day one.
Split Fiction is set to launch globally on March 6th, available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S platforms.
