Since the announcement of the upcoming DLC for *Lies of P*, titled *Overture*, fans have been buzzing with excitement and speculation about the mysteries it might unveil. However, at the recent Game Developers Conference, IGN discovered that one particular mystery—the game's surprising final cutscene—won't be addressed in the DLC. For those yet to experience the end of *Lies of P*, the cutscene hints at potential future directions for the game's universe, sparking intense fan theories and discussions.
Director Jiwon Choi confirmed that the enigmatic cutscene is not connected to the *Overture* DLC. He remained tight-lipped about further details, only teasing, "Please stay tuned for additional announcements in the future." This has led many to believe that the cutscene might be setting the stage for the already-announced sequel, *Lies of P 2*, though specifics about the sequel remain under wraps.
Choi emphasized Neowiz's commitment to quality, stating, "What I can certainly tell you is when we share such news or media and assets with you, you'll know for sure that we are ready to present it to you. And that follows very our strict focus on quality [amid] all the pressure that we talked about in the past. So that is the one promise that I can share with you, that when we actually share those contents with you and the news, we will be ready to share that with you."

The scene in question, known as the Dorothy scene, was the focus of our discussion with Choi. As detailed here, the final cutscene features Paracelcus on a phone call, mentioning, "find her, for sure. Another key of ours: Dorothy." The scene then reveals Dorothy's iconic striped sock legs and ruby slippers from *The Wizard of Oz*, suggesting a connection to other public domain fairy tales. However, fans will have to wait beyond *Overture* for any explanation of this intriguing twist.
SPOILERS END HERE.
While the Dorothy scene remains a mystery, Choi did provide some insights into what fans can expect from *Overture*. He encouraged players to replay the base game, noting, "When you play through the base game again, you'll see many hints that we scattered throughout the whole experience. A lot of hints and a lot of windows into the world, and you'll be able to actually see that and experience that in the expansion…There are many things that I actually wanted to accomplish when we were working on the base game. It didn't get put into the base game, and all of that, at least key elements of that are going to be included in the expansion."
Choi also revealed that some fans are already piecing together the puzzle, as he regularly follows fan theories online and finds that "some of them are quite close."
Additional details about *Overture* include an estimated playtime of 15-20 hours for experienced players. The DLC will be accessible after reaching a "certain" chapter in the game and will be available until the end. As a prequel, *Overture* will transport players back in time to Krat just before its fall, featuring new locations, enemies, bosses, characters, and weapons. Choi, however, kept the specifics under wraps, promising a delightful surprise upon release.
