A few short weeks after developer Dreamcube launched Miraibo GO on mobile and PC, the first in-game season is here – just in time for Halloween. The new season is called Abyssal Souls, and it features all the gutwrenching terror you’d expect to find in an event timed to coincide with the spookiest day of the year, along with all the cool stuff you’d expect to find in a new release with more than 100,000 downloads on Android alone. For the uninitiated, Miraibo GO is the closest thing you’ll find to PalWorld on mobile. Like 2024’s biggest surprise blockbuster, it sees you exploring a vast open-world environment in search of monsters to capture, battle, and look after. These monsters are called Mira, and they come in a fantastically diverse array of shapes and sizes, from hulking reptilians to adorable bird-like creatures and skittering mammal-esque pipsqueaks. There are more than a hundred of these Mira in the game, and they all have their own special skills, abilities, and elemental affinities. Using them effectively in battle is a question of knowing which Mira works best against which Mira, and in which terrain, whether sandy beach, chilly mountaintop, tranquil grassland, or searing desert. But there’s another side to Miraibo GO. When you’re not capturing and battling you’re back at your base, putting Mira to work on building, gathering resources, farming, and other domestic chores. Season Worlds
The seasons system in Miraibo GO consists of Seasonal Worlds. With the introduction of each new event a new temporal rift will appear in the game’s lobby, giving players access to the parallel dimension where the season is taking place.Every Seasonal World will contain unique Mira, buildings, progression systems, items, gameplay features, and so on. At the end of the season, your progress will determine your rewards, and you’ll be able to cash-in these rewards in Miraibo GO’s main world.
About Abyssal SoulsFor its first event, Miraibo GO is leaning heavily into the zeitgeist with a Halloween-themed Season World, and an equally Halloweeny slice of lore.
An ancient, much mythologized evil has landed in the world of Miraibo GO, creating an entire island in its wake. This ancient evil is called the Annihilator, and it's the meanest, toughest Mira on the block. Or one of them.
Not only that, but the Annihilator is joined by a host of minions, including event-exclusive Mira called Darkraven, Scaraber, and Voidhowl. Your daunting task is to take these Mira down, including the mighty Annihilator.
Pro tip: go for them during daylight hours, since monsters are stronger at night in the Abyssal Souls world.
One of the things we like about this season is that it shakes up the rules, giving newcomers a chance against those players who have spent the last few weeks mastering the gameplay and progression system of Miraibo GO.
For instance, throughout the event gaining a level will increase your health (modestly) rather than grant you attribute points. Plus there's a whole new Souls system, which lets you spend the Souls you collect on powerful stat bonuses.
The rub? Losing a fight costs you all of your souls. On the flipside, you'll get to hold on to your equipment and Mira whenever you die.
There’s an event-exclusive PvP system, with battles taking place on that island we mentioned earlier – the one created by the Annihilator. Fights on this island are free-for-all, and a quick way to lose all your souls or win some loot, depending on your abilities.Triumphing in Abyssal Souls gives you Spectral Shards to spend on special items and rewards, while throughout the event you’ll be able to visit a collection of new buildings, including Abyss Altar, Pumpking LMP, and Mystic Cauldron.
There’s a whole new secret zone, too. It’s called Ruin Arena, and you’ll be able to visit it to take part in PvP and a Ruin Defense Event.
Or, you could just enjoy the special Halloween and accessories, leaving the scary stuff for somebody braver to deal with.
Either way, you can get started by downloading Miraibo GO for free on Android, iOS, or PC through the game’s official site. Check out the game’s Discord server while you’re at it too.
