Concord: A Hero Shooter Roadmap and Gameplay Tips
Sony and Firewalk Studios have unveiled Concord's post-launch content plan, detailing a robust roadmap of updates starting August 23rd (PS5 and PC). This follows a successful open beta. The developers emphasize a commitment to continuous growth and player engagement.
No Battle Pass Required
Unlike many hero shooters, Concord eschews the Battle Pass model. Firewalk Studios prioritizes a rewarding base experience, with meaningful rewards earned through gameplay, character progression, and objective completion.
Season 1: The Tempest (October 2024)
Season 1, "The Tempest," introduces a new Freegunner character, a fresh map, additional character variants, and new cosmetic items. Weekly cinematic vignettes will enrich the Northstar crew's narrative. A cosmetic in-game store will also launch, offering optional customization options without affecting gameplay balance.
Season 2 and Beyond
Season 2 is scheduled for January 2025, signaling Firewalk's dedication to consistent seasonal content drops throughout Concord's first year.
Gameplay Strategy and Crew Builder
Concord's "Crew Builder" system allows for team customization with five unique Freegunners, permitting up to three copies of any variant. This encourages diverse team compositions tailored to playstyles and match challenges. While traditional roles like Tank or Support are absent, six distinct roles—Anchor, Breacher, Haunt, Ranger, Tactician, and Warden—influence gameplay through area control, strategic positioning, and flanking maneuvers. Balanced team compositions unlock Crew Bonuses, enhancing mobility, weapon handling, and cooldowns. Each Freegunner is designed for high DPS and effectiveness in direct combat.
