In the electrifying arena of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 competitive multiplayer, players continuously showcase their skills through final kills, but few are as remarkable as the one captured by player kev99gh. The Ricochet Blades, a unique ammunition for the D1.3 Sector secondary weapon, became the center of attention following their introduction during the contentious Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles event last month. These blades are notorious for their unpredictable bounce off multiple surfaces, sparking widespread discussion among the gaming community.
Kev99gh managed to execute what might be the longest Ricochet Blade kill ever recorded, affectionately dubbed a "pizza" by fans. In a thrilling round of hardcore Search and Destroy on the Lowtown map, kev99gh skillfully bounced a Ricochet Blade out of the map and then back inside, achieving a one-hit kill on an unsuspecting enemy peeking through a window. This stunning feat was shared on Reddit by user SpawnTubing, who highlighted the meticulous preparation and practice that goes into mastering such complex shots.

The clip showcases kev99gh lining up the shot from behind cover and launching the blade into the unknown, then switching to the overhead map view to track its trajectory. The blade travels along the map's edge before making a triumphant return through the window to secure the kill. This display of skill and timing, as commenters noted, encapsulates the essence of Black Ops 6.
The success of kev99gh's kill has fueled a "bounce kill meta" within the game, inspiring other players to attempt similarly elaborate trick shots across various Multiplayer maps. While some of these attempts have been less spectacular, they still highlight the creativity and skill of the Black Ops 6 community.

However, not everyone is thrilled about the Ricochet Blades. Critics argue that their unpredictable nature makes them frustrating to play against. These sentiments are likely to intensify following a recent update from developer Treyarch, which buffed the blades' physics and bouncing speeds. The patch notes reveal that the Ricochet Blades now deliver 100 damage, ensuring one-hit kills, albeit with a decreased rate of fire and projectile velocity.
D1.3 SectorOur initial design for the D1.3 Sector Ricochet Blades revolved around quickly launching many high-speed blades, meant to perform best blind firing into enclosed spaces. We have been following your feedback and agree that, in practice, the use cases for this ammo type are too low. The Ricochet Blades will now do 100 damage to enable one-hit kills, and to compensate we are lowering the fire rate and projectile speed. We think the popularity of this ammo type will see some new interest with these changes and look forward to seeing more of your cross-map killcams in MP.

As Black Ops 6 gears up for Season 3 and the highly anticipated return of Verdansk to Warzone, the dominance of the Ricochet Blades seems poised to continue, promising even more thrilling moments and spectacular kills in the world of competitive multiplayer gaming.
