What are Minecraft Strongholds?
Strongholds are sprawling underground complexes, remnants of a bygone era. Beyond the valuable loot scattered throughout their chambers, prisons, libraries, and other intriguing areas, lies the portal to the End – the game's final boss battle. Activation of this portal requires the Eye of Ender, detailed in the next section. Finding a stronghold organically is impossible; the game provides a specific search mechanic, though less orthodox methods exist.

Locating a Stronghold
The Eye of Ender: This is the intended and most legitimate method. Craft it using Blaze Powder (from Blaze rods dropped by Blazes) and Ender Pearls (obtained by killing Endermen, trading with villagers, or finding them in stronghold chests).

Hold the Eye of Ender and throw it; it will briefly float in the direction of the nearest stronghold. Note that Eyes of Ender are consumable. For survival mode, approximately 30 are recommended.

The /locate
Command: A less conventional (and arguably unfair) method involves enabling cheats and using the command /locate structure stronghold
(for versions 1.20 and above). The coordinates provided are approximate; further exploration might be needed. Teleport to the location using the /tp
command.

The Ender Dragon Portal
The stronghold culminates in the portal to the Ender Dragon, the final boss. Exploring the stronghold fully is highly recommended, even beyond reaching the portal.
