Celebrating its tenth year, Rainbow Six Siege is stepping into a new era with the introduction of Siege X, unveiled by Ubisoft in today's presentation. Much like CS2 was a significant evolution from CS:GO, Siege X promises to redefine the gameplay experience for fans.
Set to launch on June 10, Siege X will transition to a free-to-play model, opening the doors for all players to dive into this tactical shooter without any initial cost.
Key Changes in Siege X:
New Mode: Dual Front – This exciting 6v6 match format blends attack and defense operators, challenging teams to capture enemy zones and plant sabotage devices. The map is strategically divided into multiple areas, with three zones assigned to each team and a central neutral zone. Players can respawn 30 seconds after being eliminated, adding a fresh dynamic to the gameplay.
Advanced Rappel System – A game-changing feature allowing players to use ropes not just vertically but also horizontally, offering new tactical opportunities during operations.
Increased Environmental Destruction – The latest trailer highlighted enhanced destructible environments, with new elements like fire extinguishers and gas pipes that players can strategically blow up to alter the battlefield.
Reworks for Five Popular Maps – These beloved maps are set to receive major updates, enhancing their layout and strategic potential.
Graphical & Audio Enhancements – Ubisoft is committed to delivering a massive upgrade in visuals and sound, promising an even more immersive experience.
Improved Anti-Cheat & Toxicity Measures – The developers are doubling down on efforts to refine the anti-cheat system and combat toxic behavior within the community, ensuring a fairer and more enjoyable environment for all players.
In addition to these updates, Ubisoft has announced a closed beta for Siege X, which will be available to players who watch Siege streams over the next seven days. This provides an early opportunity for fans to experience the new features and provide valuable feedback.
