In today's saturated gaming market, finding a truly unique experience can be a challenge. My Father Lied, however, stands out with its captivating blend of mystery, Lovecraftian horror, and a compelling narrative.
My Father Lied: An Indie Developer's Journey
The game's creation story is as fascinating as the game itself. Ahmed Alameen, the developer, initially pursued a career in writing and filmmaking. A collaborative game project with a college friend ultimately fell through, but the story remained, stubbornly clinging to his imagination. Undeterred, Alameen taught himself 3D modeling and Unreal Engine, embarking on a solo journey to bring his vision to life. Even the game's title was a collaborative effort, born from brainstorming sessions with his wife.
Unraveling the Mystery: The Game's Story
My Father Lied plunges players into a captivating mystery steeped in ancient Mesopotamian myths. Players step into the shoes of Huda, a young woman grappling with a twenty-year-old question: What happened to her father? The answer, as the story unfolds, proves far more complex than she could have imagined.
Inspired by 7000 years of Mesopotamian culture, the game seamlessly blends ancient lore with modern storytelling. Gameplay features simple point-and-click mechanics, ensuring an accessible experience, complemented by stunning 2D visuals and immersive 360-degree imagery.
