Twitter Lite is the latest and smallest addition to Twitter's official apps. It allows you to connect to the popular social network through an app that takes up significantly less space on your smartphone. It's designed for slower devices and lagging connection speeds.
Upon opening Twitter Lite, you'll notice it weighs in at just over 0.5MB. This is a significant size reduction compared to the full-sized official Twitter client, which takes up 33MB to 35MB. That's a whopping 70 times fewer MB, making it ideal for smartphones with limited storage space.
Similar to other 'Lite' versions of apps (Facebook, Skype, LINE, etc.), Twitter Lite is fully adapted to 2G and 3G networks. It also includes a data-saving function to limit automatic image and video downloads.
Despite the optimizations, Twitter Lite provides the same core features you'd expect from any Twitter app. You can tweet, read tweets from accounts you follow, send and receive Direct Messages, tweet pictures and videos, create Twitter Lists, edit your profile, and more.
