Tarneeb is a card game for two teams, each comprising players seated opposite each other around a table. The game utilizes a standard 52-card deck, with play proceeding counter-clockwise. Each player attempts to predict the number of "Allmat" (tricks) their team will win in each round.
The player who wins the bid to declare "Tarneeb" throws a type of paper onto the floor. Other players must then throw papers of the same type. The first to successfully match the paper type wins the "Bamh." If a player doesn't possess the matching paper type, they forfeit the "Tarneeb" option. "Tarneeb" papers are considered superior to other paper types; the player throwing the strongest "Tarneeb" paper wins, unless a stronger one is played.
The round concludes when all players have played their papers. Points are tallied. A bidding team only scores if they achieve their predicted number of "Allmat" or more. If successful, the number of "Allmat" won is added to their score; the opposing team receives no points. If unsuccessful, the points they bid are deducted from their score and added to the opposing team's score, along with the number of "Allmat" the opposing team won.
If either team achieves 13 "Allmat" without bidding for 13, 16 points are added to their total. If a team bids for and achieves 13 "Allmat," 26 points are added. Conversely, if a team bids for 13 "Allmat" and fails, 16 points are deducted.
The game ends when a team reaches a cumulative score of 41 or more, declaring that team the winner.
