Xbox Developer Direct 2025: January 23rd Showcase Announced
Microsoft has unveiled the date for its next Xbox Developer Direct: January 23rd, 2025. This marks the third annual event, kicking off the 2025 Xbox game showcase season. The event will stream on YouTube and Twitch at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT. This announcement follows earlier rumors circulating on January 9th.
The showcase will feature in-depth looks at several highly anticipated titles. Confirmed games include:
- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: A turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive, slated for a 2025 release and confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title.
- Doom: The Dark Ages: The latest installment in the iconic Doom franchise from id Software, initially revealed in June 2024 and playable at QuakeCon 2024. A mid-2025 release is currently rumored.
- South of Midnight: A stylish action-adventure game from Compulsion Games (Contrast, We Happy Few), first announced in June 2023. A release date is expected.
Beyond the Confirmed Titles:
Previous Developer Directs have exceeded 40 minutes, showcasing multiple games. The 2024 event featured Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, and Visions of Mana. Therefore, additional unannounced titles are likely to make an appearance in the 2025 showcase.
