The Witcher's Newest Animated Adventure
A Coastal Conflict on the Continent
Netflix Tudum, the official news source, confirms The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep will premiere February 11, 2025. This animated film adapts Andrzej Sapkowski's short story, "A Little Sacrifice," from Sword of Destiny.
The story unfolds in a coastal village, where a centuries-old conflict between humans and merfolk prompts a Continent kingdom to enlist a Witcher's aid. Geralt faces a unique challenge, trading typical monsters for aquatic adversaries.
Dogue Cockle returns as Geralt's voice. Joey Batey and Anya Chalotra reprise their roles as Jaskier and Yennefer, respectively. Christina Wren (Will Trent) joins the cast as the new character, Essi Daven.
Sapkowski acts as creative consultant, with Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin (writers for the live-action series) penning the screenplay. Kang Hei Chul, storyboard artist for The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, directs.
A Season 1 Interlude
The film is set between episodes 5 and 6 of The Witcher's first season. Following Geralt and Yennefer's reunion in Rinde after the Djinn incident, Geralt accepts a commission to resolve a coastal monster problem.
The film's location is likely situated between Redania and Temeria. However, based on "A Little Sacrifice," the setting might be Bremervoord City in Temeria, ruled by Duke Agloval. The film's adherence to the source material remains to be seen.
