Vinland Tales: A New Viking Survival Adventure from Colossi Games
Colossi Games, creators of Gladiators: Survival in Rome and Daisho: Survival of a Samurai, have launched their latest casual survival game, Vinland Tales. This new title transports players to the frozen north, where they assume the role of a Viking chieftain establishing a colony in uncharted territory.
Familiar elements for fans of Colossi Games' previous work are present: an isometric viewpoint, low-poly visuals, and a relaxed approach to survival mechanics. The core gameplay loop revolves around colony building, clan management, and resource gathering.
Vinland Tales offers a wealth of additional features, including minigames, guilds, talent trees, quests, and dungeons, providing ample content. Cooperative multiplayer is also available, allowing players to team up with friends.
A Rapid Release Cycle?
One potential concern is Colossi Games' rapid release schedule. While their ambition to explore diverse settings and historical periods is evident, this approach might compromise depth. Whether Vinland Tales carves out a unique space or feels too shallow remains to be seen.
