Snapchat's 2024 Snap Recap: A Year in Review
Looking back on the past year? Many apps offer year-end recaps, and Snapchat is no exception. The new 2024 Snap Recap feature provides a fun, visual summary of your year on the platform.
What is a Snap Recap?
Unlike detailed statistical recaps like Spotify Wrapped, the Snap Recap doesn't focus on quantifiable data. Instead, it curates a single snap from each month of 2024, offering a nostalgic journey through your year. This curated selection seamlessly transitions into your Snapchat Memories, allowing you to further explore past events documented on the app.
Accessing Your 2024 Snap Recap
Accessing your recap is simple. On the main Snapchat camera screen, swipe up to open Memories. You should find your 2024 Snap Recap prominently displayed as a highlighted video.
Tap the recap (avoiding the share icon) to view your personalized slideshow. The snaps play automatically, but you can tap the screen to advance through them. You can save, edit, share, or even add your recap to your Story. Like other Snaps, it remains private unless you choose to share it.
Why is My Snap Recap Missing?
If your 2024 Snap Recap is absent, don't worry. Snapchat Support indicates a staggered rollout, meaning yours might not be ready yet. The frequency of your Snapchat usage and the number of saved Snaps are factors influencing recap generation. Unfortunately, if it doesn't appear after a reasonable wait, you can't request one.
