Ubisoft Leaks: Rainbow Six Siege 2 in Development with Enhanced Graphics

According to an insider known as fraxiswinning, Ubisoft is set to unveil Rainbow Six Siege 2 at the Six Invitational 2025, scheduled at the MGM Music Hall from February 14–16. The project, reportedly codenamed Siege X, is said to operate on an enhanced engine, boasting upgraded graphics with revamped textures and models. Additionally, it's rumored that the temporary events from the original game might not make a comeback, as Ubisoft is apparently focusing on introducing fresh events. The anticipated release date for the sequel is during the second season of the tenth year of support, which falls in mid-2025.

Previously, Alexander Karpazis, the creative director of Rainbow Six Siege, expressed that a full sequel was unnecessary due to the ongoing development of the current game. However, if the leak holds true, it appears Ubisoft may have reconsidered their stance.

It's important to approach rumors with caution. Without an official statement from Ubisoft, all this remains speculative.

The Rainbow Six Siege World Championship, Six Invitational 2025, is fast approaching. In Boston, twenty teams will vie for a portion of the $3,000,000 prize pool and the championship title. Oxygen Esports, having triumphed in the North American Last Chance Qualifier, is the last team to secure a spot.

A tournament featuring twenty teams is unusual. While Ubisoft is likely to maintain the format from the previous year—four groups engaging in a round-robin among five teams, followed by Double Elimination playoffs—there could be surprises in store.

The first-place team will skip the first round, the fourth-place team will start in the lower bracket, the rest will enter the playoffs in the upper bracket, and the last team in each group of five will be eliminated.
