Speaking of which, it's generally not thought odd for people to play video games like solitaire or far more complex fare alone, even in these internet-enabled times, so why should playing a board game by yourself be any different? In both cases, the enjoyment comes from trying to beat the challenge set by the game, and then trying again to see if you can better your own performance.
