Game of Thrones: Kingsroad Mobile RPG Beta Test Announced
Netmarble's upcoming mobile RPG, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, has unveiled a new gameplay trailer and details about its closed beta test. The game, set during the fourth season of the HBO show, promises engaging combat and a rich narrative experience.
The closed beta will run from January 16th to 22nd, 2025, in the US, Canada, and select European regions. Players can register via the game's official website. A full launch is expected later in 2025.
Kingsroad features class-based progression with "fully manual" controls, allowing players to command knights, assassins, and other classes. The storyline introduces an original character, the heir to House Tyrell in the North, alongside iconic figures like Jon Snow, Jaime Lannister, and Drogon.
The recently released trailer showcases the game's visually appealing combat system described as "raw, aggressive, and destructive." Netmarble, known for titles like Marvel Future Fight and Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds, aims to deliver a compelling story leveraging the rich lore and characters established by George R.R. Martin and the HBO series. The game's characters draw inspiration from Wildlings, Dothraki, and the Faceless Men.
While fans eagerly await the next A Song of Ice and Fire novel, The Winds of Winter, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad offers a substantial interim experience for fans of the franchise. The beta test provides a valuable opportunity to sample the game's gameplay and story before its official release. This coincides with other upcoming projects in the Game of Thrones universe, such as A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and House of the Dragon season 3.
