Surprise! Sybo Games has quietly released a new Subway Surfers title for iOS and Android. Subway Surfers City, currently in soft launch, boasts improved graphics and many features added to the original game over the years.
The game appears to be a direct sequel, addressing the aging technology of the original 2012 release. Expect familiar characters, updated hoverboards, and a visual overhaul.
Subway Surfers City's soft launch is currently limited. iOS users in the UK, Canada, Denmark, Indonesia, Netherlands, and the Philippines can download it. Android users can access it in Denmark and the Philippines.
A Bold Move?
Sybo's decision to create a sequel to their flagship title is a significant risk. The original Subway Surfers' Unity engine is showing its limitations, prompting this update. The stealth launch is a surprising strategy for such a globally popular franchise.
We're eager to see player response and the game's eventual worldwide release. Fingers crossed it meets expectations!
