Starfield Mod Adds Star Wars Lightsabers To The Game

Bethesda's Starfield space RPG gets a galactic upgrade thanks to a new Creation mod introducing Star Wars lightsabers. The recent release of the Starfield Creation Kit has unleashed a wave of player-created content, including cosmetic additions, new features, and unique gameplay enhancements.

The expansive sci-fi world of Starfield naturally lends itself to fan-made Star Wars integrations. A plethora of high-quality Star Wars mods already exist, but the addition of the Creation Club has significantly increased their number. These range from simple cosmetic items like Mandalorian armor and Clone Wars attire to more substantial additions like new alien species, AT-ST enemies, and iconic blasters. One mod even features Boba Fett, offering a glimpse into the potential of the cancelled Star Wars 1313 game.

Now, the free Immersive Sabers mod from SomberKing allows players to wield lightsabers. This mod introduces three melee lightsabers – the Combatech Polaris, Old Earth Photonsaber, and the Arboron Novabeam Saber – complete with authentic sound effects, workbench upgrades, and customizable beam colors. A new perk enhances lightsaber deflection capabilities.

Lightsabers aren't exclusive to the player; they can also be found as loot from defeated enemies. While Jedi in the Star Wars universe craft their own lightsabers, integrating them into Starfield's in-game weapon manufacturers cleverly grounds them within the game's setting. SomberKing's Creation Club page teases three additional lightsabers from Laredo Firearms, Allied Armaments, and Kore Kinetics.

The recent addition of Creation mod support, along with game updates featuring city maps and customizable ship interiors, has significantly improved player sentiment towards Starfield. However, Bethesda's implementation of paid official mods remains controversial, particularly the paywalled conclusion to the Trackers Alliance questline. With the upcoming Shattered Space expansion and a deeper exploration of the dangerous House Va'ruun faction, Starfield players have much to anticipate in the coming months.
