Star Wars: Hunters, despite not even reaching its first birthday, will celebrate its one-year anniversary before shutting down its servers. But is there really cause for celebration when a game is nearing its end?
When Will Star Wars: Hunters Shut Down?
The game's servers will officially power down on October 1st, 2025, just nine months after its initial launch. Players will have a few extra weeks to complete Season 5, which concludes on April 15th.
Zynga, the developer and publisher, will release one final content update on April 15th, introducing a new Support Hunter, Tuya, for free. In-app purchases will be disabled on the same day.
Ranked Mode will remain active until the servers close, and season events will be rerun. Players are advised to spend any remaining Crystals as no refunds will be offered.
A Predictable Demise?
While unfortunate, the shutdown of Star Wars: Hunters might not have been entirely surprising. Initially announced in 2020, the game faced multiple delays and limited beta testing, primarily in SEA and ANZAC regions.
This delayed launch, coupled with a lack of major console support and a muted reception, contributed to the game's downfall. Furthermore, the game's design choices, opting for generic original characters instead of beloved Star Wars legends, may have also hindered its success.
If you're interested in a final playthrough before the servers go offline, Star Wars: Hunters is still available for download on the Google Play Store.
