Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl boasts a diverse arsenal, allowing players to tailor their loadout to their preferred combat style. Beyond standard firearms, unique weapons with enhanced stats and modifications exist, including the Cavalier sniper rifle. This distinctive weapon features a red-dot sight instead of a traditional scope, making it exceptionally effective at close to medium ranges. Here's how to acquire this powerful weapon.
Acquiring the Cavalier Sniper Rifle
The Cavalier is located within the Duga base, near the Military Unit. Specifically, it's hidden inside a warehouse connected to a greenhouse. If you've previously retrieved the Journalist stash in Duga, accessing this area should be straightforward via the secondary entrance.
Accessing the Warehouse
Upon entering Duga, navigate towards the Military Unit building (as indicated on your map). You don't need to enter the building itself; circumnavigate it to reach the greenhouse at the rear. Be wary of two Pseudogiants patrolling this area; they are hostile. Approach cautiously to avoid confrontation.
Proceed through the greenhouse into the warehouse. Prepare for a swarm of rats upon entry; they will inflict damage. Utilize the elevated green platforms at the back of the warehouse for cover. A grenade can effectively eliminate the rodent threat.
Retrieving the Cavalier
After clearing the rats, focus on the warehouse ceiling above the greenhouse entrance. Locate the yellow-painted wooden boards. Shoot these boards with your weapon to dislodge the Cavalier sniper rifle.
Collect the weapon and safely exit Duga. The Cavalier can be further upgraded by Screw, the technician at Rostok base. Its high damage and accuracy are further enhanced through modifications. For players preferring red-dot sights over scopes on their sniper rifles, the Cavalier offers a compelling close-to-medium range option.
