No Man's Sky's Solanium: Location, Farming, and Crafting Guide
Solanium, a crucial resource in No Man's Sky, is exclusively found on planets with specific climates. This guide details how to acquire Solanium through gathering, farming, and crafting.
Locating Solanium
Unlike Frost Crystals, Solanium thrives on hot and arid planets. Before landing, use your starship's scanner to identify planets with climates like "Arid," "Incandescent," "Boiling," or "Scorched." These planets will list Solanium as a resource.
Once landed, utilize your Analysis Visor to pinpoint Solar Vines—tall, rock-like structures with luminous vines. These plants are abundant in clusters. Remember, you'll need a Haz-Mat Gauntlet to harvest them. Phosphorus, also found on these planets, is a key ingredient for crafting Solanium.
Farming Solanium
After completing the Farmer's Agricultural Research mission, you can cultivate Solar Vines. Use a Hydroponic Tray or Bio-Dome, planting them with 50 Solanium and 50 Phosphorus. Hot planets allow direct ground planting. Allow approximately 16 real-time hours for growth before harvesting.
Crafting Solanium
Several Refiner recipes produce Solanium, most requiring Phosphorus (obtainable on hot planets or from traders/Galactic Trade Terminals). Here are the recipes:
- Solanium + Phosphorus (to create more Solanium)
- Phosphorus + Oxygen
- Phosphorus + Sulphurine
- Di-hydrogen + Sulphurine
Note that all methods, even those using Sulphurine, necessitate a visit to a hot planet. Establishing a Phosphorus farm at your base ensures a consistent Sulphurine supply.
