Smite 2's Open Beta Launch: January 14th, 2025
Get ready! Smite 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the popular MOBA, launches its free-to-play open beta on January 14th, 2025. This marks a significant milestone for the Unreal Engine 5-powered game, bringing a revamped experience to players.
This launch isn't just about access; it's packed with exciting new content. Aladdin, the first God from the Tales of Arabia pantheon, makes his debut, joining a roster that will eventually boast nearly 50 Gods by the end of January 2025. Familiar faces from the original Smite, such as Mulan, Geb, Ullr, and Agni, also return with updated abilities.
Beyond new Gods, Smite 2's open beta introduces:
- New Game Modes: Experience the thrill of 3v3 Joust, set in an Arthurian-themed arena with teleporters and stealth grass, and the intense 1v1 Duel, utilizing the same map.
- Aspects System: This innovative feature allows players to sacrifice a God's standard ability for a powerful alternative. For instance, Athena trades her ally-shielding teleport for a foe-weakening one. Twenty Gods will initially feature Aspects, with more to come.
- Quality-of-Life Improvements: Smite 2 enhances the player experience with Role Guides, helpful in-game messages for newcomers, PC text chat, an improved item store, death recaps, and more.
The open beta will feature 20 of Smite 2's eventual 45 dynamic Gods. The first Smite 2 esports tournament finale will also take place at the HyperX Arena in Las Vegas from January 17th-19th.
Smite 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Mark your calendars for January 14th and prepare for battle!
