Romancing SaGa Re:universe Global Server Closure Announced
The global version of Romancing SaGa Re:universe will officially cease operations on December 2nd, 2024. While this may come as a surprise to some, the Japanese version will continue to run.
Two Months Remaining
With the December shutdown looming, in-app purchases of jewels and Google Play Points exchanges have already been discontinued following the September 29th, 2024 maintenance.
Launched in June 2020, the global version concludes its four-year run. Despite boasting impressive visuals, a strong soundtrack, and a generous gacha system, the game received a mixed reception. Unlike its popular Japanese counterpart, the global version failed to resonate with a wider audience, largely due to missing significant content updates such as the Solistia expansion and 6-star unit upgrades, updates enjoyed by Japanese players for nearly a year.
Community Feedback
Square Enix, the developer, has already shut down several titles in 2024, including Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius and two Dragon Quest mobile games, making the closure of Romancing SaGa Re:universe's global server another in a series of recent closures.
A Traditional Turn-Based RPG
Based on the classic SaGa series, Romancing SaGa Re:universe offers a traditional turn-based RPG experience. Players have approximately two months remaining to enjoy the game. Interested players can download it from the Google Play Store.
