V Rising, the vampire survival game, has achieved a remarkable milestone: exceeding 5 million units sold! Stunlock Studios, the developer, celebrated this success and unveiled exciting plans for a major 2025 update.
This update promises to significantly expand the V Rising experience. Key features include a new faction introducing fresh gameplay dynamics, enhanced PvP options offering diverse combat scenarios, and a wealth of additional content. Players can anticipate a revamped crafting station, enabling the creation of powerful endgame equipment with stat bonuses from crafted items. A new, challenging region in the north of Silverlight will extend the game world, introducing tougher enemies and bosses.
The 2025 update will also refine the progression system, offering players a more rewarding and balanced path to advancement. Stunlock Studios previously showcased aspects of the upcoming PvP features, including dedicated duel arenas and safer PvP encounters where players won't lose their blood type upon death. This was previewed in November with update 1.1.
The game's journey to this milestone began with its early access launch in 2022, followed by a full release in 2024. Its popularity is attributed to engaging combat, immersive exploration, and compelling base-building mechanics. The PS5 release in June 2024 further broadened its reach. While minor issues required hotfixes, the game's overall reception has been overwhelmingly positive, solidifying its success.
Stunlock Studios CEO, Rickard Frisegard, emphasized that the 5 million sales figure represents more than just a number; it reflects the strong and dedicated community built around V Rising. This achievement fuels the team's commitment to continuous improvement and the creation of even more engaging experiences. The 2025 update is poised to redefine the game, delivering exciting new content and challenges for players to enjoy.
