After a minor leak last week, EA has officially unveiled the title of its latest Star Wars game and the team behind it. Introducing Star Wars: Zero Company, a project brought to life by the newly-formed studio Bit Reactor, with collaborative efforts from Lucasfilm Games and Respawn.
Bit Reactor, established in 2022, is a strategy game studio composed of industry veterans from acclaimed titles such as XCOM, Civilization, Gears of War, and Elder Scrolls Online. Although it was known that Bit Reactor was collaborating with Respawn on a Star Wars project, this is the first time we've received concrete details about Zero Company.
The extent of Respawn's involvement in Star Wars: Zero Company remains somewhat ambiguous. Respawn has faced its share of challenges recently, including the cancellation of its own Star Wars FPS project a year ago, alongside significant layoffs at EA, and the termination of another multiplayer FPS project just last month.
For those eager to learn more, a live panel dedicated to Star Wars: Zero Company is set for Saturday, April 19 at 4:30pm local time in Japan. For fans in the U.S., that translates to an early morning reveal at 12:30am PT and 3:30am ET, so be sure to set your alarms accordingly.
