Pokémon GO celebrates its 8th Anniversary with a spectacular event! Starting Friday, June 28th at 10:00 a.m. and lasting until Wednesday, July 3rd at 8:00 p.m., get ready for exciting new Pokémon, boosted bonuses, and incredible raid and trading opportunities.
Anniversary Highlights:
First up, party-hat-wearing Grimer and Muk make their appearance, with a chance to find a Shiny Grimer! Meltan also returns in its shiny form via the Mystery Box.
This anniversary event significantly increases your chances of becoming Lucky Friends and acquiring Lucky Pokémon through trades. Friendship levels will boost rapidly from opening Gifts, trading, or battling. You can also discover 8 or even 88 Gimmighoul Coins when using a Golden Lure Module at PokéStops.
Special bonuses are spread throughout the event:
- June 28th-29th: Half Egg Hatch Distance
- June 30th-July 1st: Double XP for catching Pokémon
- July 2nd-3rd: Double Stardust for catches
One-star raids offer a higher chance of encountering shiny, festively-dressed Pokémon. Event-themed field research tasks reward encounters with partner Pokémon like Bulbasaur, Cyndaquil, and Mudkip, alongside Mega Energy for Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Sceptile, Blaziken, and Swampert.
