Pokémon Go rings in 2025 with a New Year's event! Niantic is celebrating the new year with festivities including the New Year's 2025 event, Fidough Fetch, and the upcoming Sprigatito Community Day. Kicking off the year is the Eggs-pedition Access, a paid event running throughout January. For $4.99, players unlock numerous benefits to enhance their Pokémon catching adventures until January 31st. This also includes a significant upgrade to the Gift system, allowing players to hold more Gifts, open more daily, and collect more from PokéStops.
What's in Store for the Pokémon Go New Year's 2025 Event?
The New Year's 2025 event runs from December 30th, 2024, at 10:00 am to January 1st, 2025, at 8:00 pm. While there aren't any new Pokémon, Shiny variations, or costumes, the event still offers plenty of excitement.
Expect increased wild spawns of festive Pokémon including a ribbon-wearing Jigglypuff, a New Year's outfit-clad Hoothoot, and a party-hat-donning Wurmple—all with boosted Shiny rates. Event bonuses include a generous 2,025 XP for Excellent Throws and celebratory fireworks.
Raids will feature a snowflake-hat Pikachu (Tier One), and party-hat-wearing Raticate and Wobbuffet (Tier Three), with increased Shiny chances. Themed Pokémon encounters will also be available through Field Research tasks and PokéStop Showcases.
