People Can Fly, the acclaimed developer behind Bulletstorm and co-developer of the highly anticipated Gears of War: E-Day, has recently inked a deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment to bring a new game to life, codenamed Project Delta. According to a report from People Can Fly, this project is set to be developed as a work-for-hire game, though specifics about the game remain under wraps.
The studio is currently juggling an impressive lineup of projects, each with its own codename. Among these are Project Gemini, developed in collaboration with Square Enix, which unfortunately saw 30 developers laid off last year. There's also Project Echo, being crafted with Krafton, and Project Red, which appears to be another venture with Sony. Additionally, People Can Fly recently announced that Project Bison, their VR endeavor, would be their last in that realm.
In a series of updates last year, People Can Fly announced the suspension of work on Project Victoria and the scaling down of Project Bifrost. Earlier in April, they also decided to cancel Project Dagger, an action-adventure game that was in development with Take-Two Interactive.
Despite these adjustments, People Can Fly remains busy with a total of eight known projects in development. This includes the eagerly awaited Gears of War: E-Day, developed in partnership with The Coalition, though a release date for this title has yet to be announced. Meanwhile, Project Gemini, their collaboration with Square Enix, is slated for a 2026 release.
