Hold onto your seats, Marvel fans! Oscar Isaac might be stepping back into the shoes of Moon Knight for the much-anticipated Avengers: Doomsday. Surprised? You're not alone, but recent developments are lending some credence to this exciting theory.
Over the weekend, the official social media for Star Wars Celebration announced that Isaac would no longer be attending the convention in Japan this year due to changes in his production schedule. This announcement had initially sparked excitement in February when it was thought Isaac might be hinting at a return to the Star Wars universe as Poe Dameron, especially following Daisy Ridley's announcement at Star Wars Celebration 2023 about her role in a new film. However, it's Isaac's altered schedule that's now fueling speculation about his involvement in Avengers: Doomsday.
Although the specifics of Isaac's production schedule changes remain undisclosed, the fact that Avengers: Doomsday is currently being filmed in London has led fans to connect the dots. Social media platforms have been buzzing with speculation:

While this theory is still speculative, Marvel is known for its surprises. Although Isaac wasn't included in the initial cast reveal for Avengers: Doomsday, Marvel Studios producer Kevin Feige hinted during a video call at CinemaCon that not all cast members were announced. "We revealed many, not all," he stated, keeping the door open for surprises like Isaac's potential involvement.
Isaac previously starred in the six-episode Moon Knight series released in 2022, but there's been no official word on a second season. Avengers: Doomsday is slated to premiere on May 1, 2026, promising a grand ensemble of returning heroes and new faces.
Meanwhile, MCU enthusiasts have also been intrigued by Robert Downey Jr.'s recent Doctor Doom-themed birthday invitation, adding another layer of speculation to the mix.
Last month's Avengers: Doomsday cast reveal highlighted several veteran X-Men actors, including Kelsey Grammer, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, and James Marsden, confirming the significant presence of the X-Men in the film. Grammer, known for portraying Beast in the Fox X-Men series, made his MCU debut in The Marvels' post-credits scene. Stewart, as Charles Xavier/Professor X, appeared briefly in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. However, McKellen, Cumming, Romijn, and Marsden have yet to make their MCU debut. This raises an intriguing question: could Avengers: Doomsday be a covert Avengers vs. X-Men movie?
