Hotta Studios' upcoming 3D open-world RPG, Neverness to Everness, is gearing up for its initial closed beta test. Unfortunately, participation is limited to players residing in mainland China. However, interested parties worldwide can still follow the game's progress as it approaches release.
Gematsu recently provided a glimpse into the game's updated lore, adding depth to the previously revealed city of Eibon (see trailer below). The new details highlight a blend of comedic and unusual elements within the game's world of Hetherau.
Hotta Studios, a subsidiary of Perfect World (creators of the popular Tower of Fantasy), is bringing a unique twist to the 3D open-world RPG genre. Neverness to Everness distinguishes itself with features such as open-world driving, allowing players to purchase and customize vehicles. Be warned, though – realistic crash physics apply!
The game faces considerable competition upon release. It will contend not only with MiHoYo's Zenless Zone Zero, a benchmark in the mobile 3D open-world RPG space, but also NetEase's Ananta (formerly Project Mugen), developed by Naked Rain, which occupies a similar niche.
