Netflix has exciting news for fans of the acclaimed video game, *Sifu*. The streaming giant has teamed up with the game's creators to bring its compelling story to the big screen. Initially announced in 2022, the film adaptation was spearheaded by Story Kitchen in collaboration with Sloclap, the developers behind *Sifu*. However, recent updates from Deadline indicate that the project has seen a substantial expansion in its production team.

Netflix has enlisted the talents of T.S. Nowlin, renowned for his work on the Maze Runner series and Netflix's *Project Adam*, to craft the screenplay. While Derek Kolstad, who was previously involved in adapting *Sifu*'s narrative, may still have a role, his current involvement remains uncertain.
The production team has been further bolstered by the addition of Chad Stahelski, the visionary behind the *John Wick* series. Stahelski, along with his production company 87Eleven Entertainment, will serve as executive producers. It's worth noting that Stahelski is also lending his expertise to another high-profile video game adaptation, *Ghost of Tsushima*.
Since its release in 2022, *Sifu* has captured the hearts of gamers worldwide, selling over one million copies within just three weeks. The game tells the gripping tale of a young martial artist on a quest for vengeance following the murder of their master. Equipped with a mystical pendant that revives them upon death—albeit at the cost of aging them several years—the protagonist navigates a perilous path filled with danger and intrigue.
