This week, the Pocket Gamer App Army tackled the puzzle adventure A Fragile Mind from Glitch Games. Reactions were mixed. While some lauded the challenging puzzles and witty humor, others found the presentation lacking.
A Fragile Mind employs a classic escape room formula, spiced with humor. We asked our App Army to share their experiences. Here's what they said:

Initially, the game's icon led me to believe it would be dull. I was pleasantly surprised! The gameplay is unique and offers a refreshing puzzle adventure experience. The puzzles are demanding but incredibly engaging, making it one of the best puzzle games I've played. I highly recommend playing it on a tablet for an optimal experience.

This point-and-click adventure features static, pre-rendered graphics. The narrative is unclear. Each level presents increasingly complex puzzles. Uniquely, you can progress without solving every puzzle on a floor, and some puzzles require items obtained on subsequent floors. The game features clever fourth-wall breaks. The hint system, while helpful, is perhaps too generous. Navigation can be confusing at times, but overall, this is a strong example of the genre.

A Fragile Mind is a first-person puzzle adventure where you awaken in a building's garden with amnesia. Gameplay involves exploring, taking photos, finding clues, and solving puzzles to progress. While graphics and sound aren't spectacular, they're functional. The puzzles are challenging, and a walkthrough might be necessary. It's a relatively short game with limited replayability. Recommended for fans of puzzle adventures.

While I enjoy escape-room style puzzlers, A Fragile Mind falls short. The presentation is muddy, hindering puzzle identification. Poor UI choices, like the menu button placement, add to the frustration. The pacing is off; too many puzzles are available at the start. The hint system was frequently needed.

While usually not a fan of puzzle games due to their difficulty, I enjoyed this one. The visuals and audio are well-done, and the puzzles are intriguing. The hint system is excellent; it provides necessary guidance without spoiling the solution. A good, albeit short, experience for the price.

The gameplay is best described as a layered puzzle experience. Multiple clues and puzzles must be solved simultaneously. Taking in-game photos and notes is crucial. It plays smoothly on Android and offers extensive visual and sound options, along with good accessibility features. It's a short but enjoyable game with humor.
