The first chapter of the Metaphor: ReFantazio manga adaptation is now available! This free-to-read chapter, released on MANGA Plus, offers a unique take on the popular game's story.
A New Perspective on Will's Journey
Developed in collaboration with Shueisha and illustrated by Yōichi Amano (Akaboshi: Ibun Suikoden, Stealth Symphony), the manga diverges from the game's narrative. Expect alterations to the opening storyline, including the omission of certain areas and the introduction of entirely new events. The protagonist's interactions with allies are also restructured, and his name, Will, is officially confirmed.
The next chapter is scheduled for release on February 19th, simultaneously with the Japanese version.
Critical Acclaim for Metaphor: ReFantazio
Atlus's latest IP, created by Studio Zero (headed by Katsura Hashino, the director behind the Persona series), follows Will and his fairy companion, Gallica, as they strive to save the prince of Euchronia. The king's assassination throws the kingdom into chaos, leading to a people's choice for a new ruler—a choice that unexpectedly involves Will.
The game's phenomenal success is undeniable, achieving over one million copies sold worldwide on its launch day, surpassing even Persona 3: Reload's sales. Its critical acclaim is equally impressive, earning numerous awards, including Best RPG, Best Art Direction, and Best Narrative at the 2024 Game Awards.
Metaphor: ReFantazio is available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox Series X|S.
