Medabot Survivors: Bullet-Hell Action for Medabots Fans, But Only in Japan (For Now)
Medabot Survivors, a new bullet-hell action game based on the popular robot role-playing series, has launched in Japan for iOS and Android devices on February 10th. For those unfamiliar, Medabots enjoyed a surge in popularity following Pokémon's success, though it never achieved the same global recognition in the West. However, it maintains a strong following in Japan.
This new mobile title, as reported by Gematsu, capitalizes on the currently trending "Survivors-like" genre. While the genre predates Vampire Survivors, Medabot Survivors' release highlights its global expansion. The game's Japan-only release, however, is a disappointment for international fans.
A Survivor's Hope
The success of Medabot Survivors in Japan could pave the way for a future Western release. Many excellent Japanese games remain unavailable internationally, but the popularity of this title might change that. For now, though, international players will have to wait and see.
