Update:Mar 16,2025
From the iconic *Incredible Hulk* TV series to the popular *Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.*, and the gritty Netflix shows introducing characters like Daredevil and Luke Cage, Marvel Comics has a rich history of inspiring small-screen adaptations. While previous attempts to connect live-action TV shows to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) sometimes faltered—remember *Runaways* and *Cloak and Dagger*? — 2021 marked a turning point. Marvel Studios launched a new era on Disney+, creating interconnected series deeply integrated with the billion-dollar film franchise.
With the charming *Spider-Man: Freshman Year* now part of the Disney+ Marvel lineup, it's the perfect time to revisit the preceding shows. Like the Avengers sharing shawarma after the Battle of New York, the IGN team has collaborated to rank the first twelve Disney+ Marvel series. Stay tuned for *Spider-Man: Freshman Year*'s placement after its conclusion.

12. Secret Invasion
Disney+It's surprising to rank *Secret Invasion* so low, a near-unanimous decision. While the comic book event is monumental, the show fell short. Director Ali Selim's admission of not reading the comics hampered the adaptation. While MCU adaptations often successfully reinterpret source material, *Secret Invasion* lacked that spark. Aiming for the espionage tone of *Captain America: The Winter Soldier*, the series followed Nick Fury battling a Skrull invasion. However, slow pacing, an AI-generated opening, a poorly handled character death, and a forgettable new character placed it at the bottom.
11. Echo
Disney+A significant improvement over *Secret Invasion*, *Echo* still lands at 11th. Alaqua Cox reprises her role from *Hawkeye*, exploring Echo's life on the reservation, balancing her powers, past, and relationship with Kingpin. A shortened episode count left some viewers wanting more. Despite this, the series boasts impressive action sequences, including a standout fight with Daredevil. Its groundbreaking representation of Indigenous creatives both on and off-screen is noteworthy, making it a unique and compelling addition to the MCU.
10. Moon Knight
Disney+This Oscar Isaac-led series surprisingly sits low on our ranking. Marc Spector's multiple personalities drive a dark, mysterious story. Blending elements of *One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest*, *Indiana Jones*, and *Legion*, the series introduces Scarlet Scarab (May Calamawy), a standout character. Despite a strong cast including F. Murray Abraham and Ethan Hawke, *Moon Knight* couldn't reach higher rankings or secure a second season.
9. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier
Disney+Despite its potential, *The Falcon and the Winter Soldier* struggled. Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan's chemistry was a highlight, but the series was hampered by ambiguous morality, heavy reliance on the Blip's aftermath, and a focus on espionage over action. Originally planned as the first Disney+ Marvel show, the pandemic impacted production, potentially affecting the final product. Nevertheless, its narrative elements are crucial to the current MCU, notably influencing the *Thunderbolts* film.
