This remarkable feat underscores the sequel's popularity. The medieval European action RPG launched on February 4th for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Last week, Embracer Group, Warhorse Studios' parent company, highlighted the game's exceptional performance on Steam, boasting over 250,000 concurrent players at its peak. This significantly eclipses the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance's peak of 96,069 concurrent players seven years prior.
While the actual peak concurrent player count is undoubtedly higher due to console releases (data not publicly released by Sony or Microsoft), the Steam numbers alone demonstrate significant growth.
Embracer, through its subsidiary Plaion, praised Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's success, emphasizing positive player and critic reception alongside strong sales figures. Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors attributed this success to the dedication of Warhorse Studios and publisher Deep Silver.
Wingefors expressed confidence in the game's continued revenue generation over the coming years, citing its exceptional quality and immersive gameplay. He also highlighted a robust roadmap featuring updates and new content throughout the next year.
Wingefors concluded by expressing immense pride in the teams responsible for the game's outstanding performance, which significantly exceeded initial expectations.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's post-launch roadmap includes three expansions scheduled for 2025. Spring will see free updates introducing features like a barber shop with enhanced customization, Hardcore Mode, and horse racing. Summer will bring the first paid DLC, "Brushes with Death," focusing on protagonist Henry's assistance to a mysterious artist. Autumn delivers the "Legacy of the Forge" expansion, exploring Henry's adoptive father's history. Finally, winter will see the release of "Mysteria Ecclesia," a covert mission within the Sedlec Monastery.
