Long awaited by players across PC and console platforms, crossplay is finally coming to Baldur's Gate 3 with Patch 8! While an official release date is pending, a Patch 8 Stress Test will offer early access to this and other features in January 2025. Interested players can register now for a chance to participate.
When is Baldur's Gate 3 Crossplay Arriving?
Patch 8, the update introducing crossplay, lacks a confirmed release date. However, a select group of players will experience crossplay and other Patch 8 features early via the January 2025 Stress Test. This early access period allows Larian Studios to identify and resolve potential bugs before the full release.
How to Register for the Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 8 Stress Test
To be among the first to try Baldur's Gate 3's crossplay, register for the Patch 8 Stress Test. This is open to PC, PlayStation, and Xbox players.
Registration involves completing Larian's Stress Test signup form. A Larian account is required; create one or log in to access the form. The brief questionnaire asks for basic player information, including your preferred platform.
Selection isn't guaranteed. Successful applicants will receive an email with further instructions and access details. Selected testers will provide feedback through dedicated forms and Discord.
The Stress Test will also assess the patch's impact on mods. Mod users and developers are encouraged to participate to ensure compatibility.
Crucially, all players in your Baldur's Gate 3 group must register for the Stress Test to utilize crossplay during this period. Otherwise, you'll need to wait for the broader release in 2025.
Baldur's Gate 3's enduring popularity and strong community make the addition of crossplay a highly anticipated event, promising to unite even more players in the exploration of Faerûn.
