Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 2 Arrives January 28th
Treyarch has officially announced the launch date for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 2: Tuesday, January 28th. Season 1, which began November 14th, will have run for a substantial 75 days, making it one of the longest seasons in Call of Duty history.
While specifics regarding Season 2's content remain under wraps, anticipation is high. The exceptionally long Season 1 follows the game's record-breaking launch, boasting the highest player count in its first 30 days. However, recent weeks have seen a noticeable player decline, attributed to ongoing issues like cheating in Ranked Play and server problems. The community hopes the new season will revitalize the game with fresh content and significant improvements.
Season 2 Launch Confirmed
The Season 2 launch date was revealed in a recent update addressing Zombies mode issues. While some fixes were postponed, Treyarch confirmed the January 28th launch, promising a detailed blog post closer to the date.
Season 1 delivered a massive content drop, including new multiplayer maps, modes, weapons, and events, alongside a complete Warzone overhaul. This included a new movement system, weapons, gameplay updates, and the Area-99 Resurgence map. The return of classic maps like Nuketown and Hacienda from Black Ops 4 was also a highlight.
Looking ahead, Treyarch has hinted at more classic map remasters for Season 2, though they prioritize original content. Associate Creative Director Miles Leslie previously stated that no Black Ops map is excluded from potential remastering.
