Marvel's upcoming Vision Quest series is reportedly bringing back a villain from the very first MCU film, Iron Man.
Deadline reports that Faran Tahir will reprise his role as Raza Hamidmi al-Wazar, the leader of the Afghan terrorist group that held Tony Stark captive in the opening scenes of the 2008 film. Al-Wazar's last appearance was in that initial 30-minute segment, but nearly two decades later, he's set for an MCU comeback. This mirrors the return of Samuel Sterns from The Incredible Hulk in Captain America: Brave New World.
The Vision Quest series, starring Paul Bettany as White Vision following the events of WandaVision, currently lacks a release date.
This retcon establishes al-Wazar as a Ten Rings commander, potentially linking Vision Quest to Shang-Chi's open-ended narrative.
Similar to Deadpool & Wolverine's exploration of the less-conventional aspects of the former Fox Marvel universe, Vision Quest might delve into previously overlooked elements of the official MCU.
The series will also reportedly feature the return of James Spader as Ultron, his first appearance since Avengers: Age of Ultron. Further details about the show remain scarce.
