According to a PC Gamer report, Johnson was found unconscious and barely alive in his hotel room last week after failing to appear at a charity event. His wife, Kim, was unable to contact him, prompting hotel security to intervene. Emergency responders had difficulty detecting a pulse.
The GoFundMe page describes Johnson's current condition: "Right now, Wes continues to battle for his life in an intensive care unit." The initial fundraising goal of $50,000 has been significantly surpassed, with over $144,791 raised from nearly 2,200 supporters.
Beyond his extensive video game work, Johnson has served as the public address announcer for the Washington Capitals for 25 years and boasts a diverse career in film and television.
