Leslie Benzies, the mastermind behind Rockstar Games' hits like Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption, is gearing up to launch his next ambitious project: MindsEye. Recently showcased at PlayStation's State of Play, MindsEye offers a fresh glimpse into a high-octane spy thriller.
The new trailer reveals a game brimming with familiar elements reminiscent of Grand Theft Auto: third-person gunplay, stunning cinematic sequences, and thrilling drive-by shootouts. Experience the action firsthand in the cinematic trailer below.
According to the official press release, MindsEye follows Jacob Diaz, a protagonist equipped with a neural implant—the titular MindsEye. This implant, however, has wreaked havoc on his memory, leaving him with fragmented flashbacks from his army days. Driven by the need to uncover the truth about his past, Diaz embarks on a perilous mission, encountering an AI-powered military force determined to obstruct his path.
MindsEye has been in the works for several years. After his departure from Rockstar Games, Benzies established his own studio, Build a Rocket Boy, and partnered with IO Interactive, the creators of Hitman, to bring MindsEye to life. Touted as a AAA action-adventure title, MindsEye's release will also coincide with the launch of the Everywhere platform, previously described as a "big-budget Roblox" following a studio visit in 2024.
While the new trailer remained silent on Everywhere, MindsEye itself promises an exhilarating action experience from one of the industry's most influential figures. Target release window: Summer 2025.
