Nvidia Unveils RTX 50 Series GPUs with DLSS 4 and Multi-Frame Generation at CES 2025
Nvidia's CES 2025 keynote unveiled the RTX 50 series GPUs, codenamed Blackwell, boasting significant advancements in graphics technology. The highlight is DLSS 4 with Multi-Frame Generation, initially exclusive to the RTX 50 series, promising substantial FPS boosts in 75 supported games and applications.
This new generation builds upon the Ada Lovelace architecture, enhancing Nvidia's Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) technology. Multi-Frame Generation, a key feature of DLSS 4, delivers faster FPS increases than its predecessor. The flagship RTX 5090, priced at $1,999, features 32GB of GDDR7 memory. Other models include the RTX 5080 ($999), RTX 5070 Ti ($749), and RTX 5070 ($549).
Cyberpunk 2077 serves as a compelling example: with full ray tracing and DLSS/Multi-Frame Generation disabled, the RTX 5090 achieved sub-30 FPS. Enabling both technologies catapulted the frame rate to an impressive 236 FPS.
The initial launch lineup of 75 games supporting DLSS 4 and Multi-Frame Generation includes:
