The return of the classic Call of Duty Prestige system in Black Ops 6 has made XP grinding more popular than ever. Players familiar with recent titles like Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone might have a head start. This guide explains how to utilize Legacy XP Tokens in Black Ops 6.
Understanding Legacy XP Tokens in Black Ops 6
Following the Season 01 update for Black Ops 6 and Warzone, many players discovered a surplus of previously unseen XP tokens. These were quickly used to boost XP, Weapon XP, and Battle Pass progression. However, a November 15th update addressed a bug that allowed these tokens to be activated within the Black Ops 6 UI.
These Legacy XP Tokens are unused XP tokens carried over from previous Call of Duty games, such as Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, or Warzone, and accessible via the COD HQ app. These tokens were earned through various methods in those games, including DMZ Missions, Battle Pass Tiers, and promotions with brands like Little Caesar's and Monster Energy. While usable in Warzone, their direct application in Black Ops 6 was initially problematic.
Utilizing Warzone XP Tokens in Black Ops 6
Initially, players could activate Legacy XP Tokens from Warzone directly within Black Ops 6. This functionality was temporarily removed. However, a workaround existed: activating the tokens in Warzone then launching Black Ops 6 to see the token and its timer reflected in the game's UI. This method, while requiring switching between games, provided a significant XP boost.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone are available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
