Zenless Zone Zero: Upcoming Updates and Extended Patch Cycle
Recent leaks suggest a longer-than-anticipated patch cycle for Zenless Zone Zero, potentially extending to Version 1.7 before the launch of Version 2.0. This contrasts with other HoYoverse titles like Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, which concluded their initial cycles at Version 1.6.
This news follows a successful first year for Zenless Zone Zero, marked by a Game Awards nomination, growing popularity, and a notable collaboration with McDonald's. The game’s consistent addition of new content, including characters and features with each update, has fueled player anticipation. The upcoming 1.5 update, in particular, is generating excitement with the introduction of two new S-Rank units, Astra Yao and Evelyn, a new area, and a possible skin for Nicole Demara.
According to reliable leaker Flying Flame, the projected update schedule is as follows:
Projected Patch Cycle:
- Version 1.7, concluding the current cycle.
- Version 2.0, followed by Version 2.8.
- Version 3.0, initiating a new cycle.
This extended cycle could significantly increase the game's overall content, setting it apart from its sister titles. Furthermore, a separate leak from the same source reveals plans for 31 additional characters, a substantial addition to the current roster of 26.
While Version 1.7 remains months away, players can anticipate the imminent 1.5 update, which includes a new story chapter, area, events, and the highly anticipated addition of Astra Yao and Evelyn. Players are advised to begin farming Astra Yao's materials in preparation for her arrival.
The recently released Version 1.4, featuring the powerful Hoshimi Miyabi, faced initial criticism regarding potential censorship. However, HoYoverse swiftly addressed these concerns, resolving the issue and providing player compensation. Version 1.4 is expected to conclude in late January.
