Netflix is developing a live-action Dungeons & Dragons series based on the Forgotten Realms setting, according to Deadline. The project, one of Netflix's largest fantasy investments, will be helmed by Shawn Levy (Deadpool & Wolverine), with Drew Crevello (WeCrashed) as writer and showrunner. The series, currently in development, has the potential to launch a larger D&D universe on the platform. While Netflix and Hasbro haven't commented, the report indicates a pilot script is complete and negotiations have concluded.

Despite the positive outlook for the Netflix series, a sequel to the well-received Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves remains uncertain. While star Chris Pine expressed interest and confidence in a sequel, Paramount Pictures’ CEO, Brian Robbins, indicated a sequel would only proceed with a reduced budget. Meanwhile, Amazon's Secret Level anthology series features a D&D animated segment.
