A free demo for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth's spin-off, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, launches today! Available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam at 7am Pacific / 10am Eastern / 3pm UK.
The demo, announced via X/Twitter, offers a taste of the full game's freeroam and combat, allowing players to explore parts of Honolulu and Madlantis – areas not accessible early in the main game. The demo features:
- Freeroam exploration of Honolulu and Madlantis.
- Access to "Mad Dog" and "Sea Dog" fighting styles.
- Battles against powerful bounty enemies.
- Four ship and deck battles in the Pirates' Coliseum.
- New character customization options.
- Karaoke with three selectable songs.
While the full game releases February 21st on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, these platforms will not receive the demo. Progress from the demo likely won't carry over to the full game, as it focuses on specific, later-game areas, bypassing the natural story progression.
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, following amnesiac pirate Goro Majima, promises a longer experience than Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, estimated at 15-18 hours. The game showcases ship combat reminiscent of Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag and the return of Taiga Saejima, hinting at deeper connections to the main series. A Kiryu Kazuma costume is available for players who subscribe to email notifications or a Sega rewards program.
