The 28th D.I.C.E. Awards have arrived, celebrating the pinnacle of video game excellence from 2024. With 23 categories showcasing the industry's finest, Astro Bot emerged as the star of the show, clinching the coveted Game of the Year award. It also triumphed in Outstanding Achievement in Animation, Outstanding Technical Achievement, Family Game of the Year, and Outstanding Achievement in Game Design, solidifying its status as a standout title.
Helldivers 2 wasn't far behind, securing four awards, including Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Composition, Outstanding Achievement in Audio Design, Action Game of the Year, and Online Game of the Year. Both Balatro and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle also shone brightly, each taking home three awards.

In addition to celebrating the best games, the D.I.C.E. Awards honored two individuals for their significant contributions to the video game industry. The former Executive Vice President of Operations for Nintendo of America received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his dedication to the company and his support for the Starlight Children's Foundation.
Ted Price, the founder and president of Insomniac Games, who recently announced his retirement, was inducted into the Hall of Fame. His award recognized his three decades of leadership at Insomniac Games and his advocacy for the First Amendment rights of video game creators.
