New Civs, Leaders, and Wonders are Coming Soon to Civ 7
Just hours after the Deluxe Edition of Civ VII hit the shelves, and days before the standard edition's launch, Firaxis unveiled their ambitious 2025 Post-Launch Roadmap. The Crossroads of the World DLC, bundled with the Deluxe and Founders’ Editions, is slated to introduce two new leaders, four new civilizations, and four new natural wonders over two releases in March 2025.
The first wave in early March will introduce Ada Lovelace alongside the civilizations of Great Britain and Carthage, along with four new natural wonders. The second wave, scheduled for later in March, will bring Simón Bolívar and the civilizations of Nepal and Bulgaria.
While Firaxis has kept the specifics under wraps, we can't help but speculate on what these new additions might bring to the game. Keep in mind, these predictions are based on historical data and should be taken with a pinch of salt.
Ada Lovelace Leader Ability, Attributes, and Agenda Prediction
Ada Lovelace, known as the world's first computer programmer, is expected to focus on science and technology. Her aristocratic background and connection to the poet Lord Byron and social reformer Annabella Milbanke suggest her abilities might center around the Codex and Specialist mechanics, areas yet to be explored by other leaders. Lovelace's leadership could steer players toward a science victory, especially when paired with Great Britain's anticipated bonuses.
Simón Bolívar Leader Ability, Attributes, and Agenda Prediction
Simón Bolívar, known as The Liberator of America, returns to the Civilization series with a focus on military strategy and expansion. His previous appearance in Civ 6 hints at a Militarist/Expansionist playstyle, likely utilizing the new Commanders mechanic to keep his forces advancing through superior logistics.
Carthage Unique Bonus, Unit, Infrastructure, and Wonder Prediction
Carthage, a powerhouse of trade in the ancient world, is expected to focus on naval trade and coastal development. Unlike Phoenicia from Civ 6, Carthage might emphasize Trade Route capacity and cultural bonuses from international trade, potentially synergizing well with the Colossus wonder.
Great Britain Unique Bonus, Unit, Infrastructure, and Wonder Prediction
As a staple of the series, Great Britain will likely reflect its Industrial Era dominance, with bonuses geared towards naval production and trade. Its connection to Oxford University could provide a production boost, strengthening its science and industry capabilities.
Nepal Unique Bonus, Unit, Infrastructure, and Wonder Prediction
Positioned near the Himalayas, Nepal's unique gameplay might revolve around military and cultural advantages, with special units benefiting from mountainous terrain. Though the Taj Mahal is nearby, its bonuses might not align perfectly, leaving us curious about which wonder Nepal will complement.
Bulgaria Unique Bonus, Unit, Infrastructure, and Wonder Prediction
Bulgaria, making its debut in the Civilization series, is set to emphasize Military and Economy, with a focus on Cavalry and Traditions. As an Exploration Age civilization, its design might reflect its historical context during or shortly after Ottoman rule.
Crossroads of the World DLC Natural Wonder Bonus Predictions
The Crossroads of the World DLC introduces four new Natural Wonders, which in Civ 7 provide additional Tile Yields rather than unique bonuses. Here's what we anticipate they might offer upon release.
