Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Delivers Classic Modes and Map Updates
Just days after its launch, Black Ops 6 is already expanding its content library with the highly anticipated addition of "Infected" and the iconic Nuketown map. Treyarch, the game's developer, confirmed via Twitter (now X) that "Infected" mode will arrive this week, followed by Nuketown on November 1st. This announcement follows the game's successful launch on October 25th, which included 11 standard multiplayer modes.
Infected and Nuketown: A Blast from the Past
"Infected," a fan-favorite party mode, pits players against zombie-like opponents in a thrilling survival challenge. Nuketown, a map originally featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010), returns with its signature 1950s nuclear test site aesthetic. Activision has previously stated its commitment to post-launch content updates, ensuring a steady stream of new modes and experiences for players.
Addressing Post-Launch Issues
Black Ops 6's initial post-launch update addressed several player-reported issues. Improvements include increased XP rates in various game modes (Team Deathmatch, Control, Search & Destroy, and Gunfight) and fixes for various bugs. These fixes range from loadout highlighting and operator animation issues to resolving map exploits and improving overall stability. A list of resolved issues includes:
- Global: Resolved loadout highlighting, operator animation, and "Mute Licensed Music" setting issues.
- Maps: Addressed exploits allowing players to leave the designated play areas in Babylon, Lowtown, and Red Card maps. Stability improvements were also implemented in Red Card.
- Multiplayer: Fixed matchmaking issues, preventing private matches from forfeiting with zero players on a team, and resolved a persistent sound bug with the Dreadnought scorestreak.
While some issues persist (such as the loadout selection death in Search & Destroy), developers Treyarch and Raven Software are actively working on further patches. Despite these minor setbacks, Black Ops 6 has been widely praised, particularly for its engaging campaign.
